Amazon India removes products priced above MRP from its platform.

Amazon India said it had been removing listings and suspending accounts of sellers on its platform pricing their products above the utmost retail price (MRP) amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a statement from Amazon India, the country's e-commerce behemoth, "There isn't any room for evaluation on Amazon, and in line with our policy, we appear to still closely monitor our marketplace and take appropriate action against sellers who area unit selling merchandise below the MRP, which is in violation of Indian laws."

During the worldwide outbreak of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic in February, Amazon warned third-party vendors on its marketplace not to charge exorbitant prices for face masks. The value of the facemasks was discovered to be incompatible with the company's pricing mechanism.

In March 2020, Amazon had also removed many thousands of “high-priced offers” and suspended accounts of thousands of sellers who were found involved in pricing . the corporate was reported to possess removed as many as 530,000 products from its marketplace and suspended 2,500 seller accounts.

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), the country's apex trade body, accused e-commerce behemoths Amazon & Flipkart of delivering non-essential goods in violation of COVID-19 restrictions levied by various states on April 26.

The CAIT (Confederation of All India Traders) said in a letter to Union Commerce & Industry Minister Piyush Goyal that Amazon and Flipkart were profiting illegally from the pandemic by delivering non-essential goods.
